The Race: LeMans 2018

I have been waiting for this race since the 919 won back in June 2017. I haven’t been a fan forever, I actually started following LeMans in 2015 and well, what best way to start with Porsche’s Hattrick. Winning 2015, 2016 and 2017 lets see what RSR’s do this year.

Lemans 2018 Porsche's New Livery

What a way to prepare for Lemans 2018, yes the 919 is no longer racing, it did not stop Porsche is reviving our passion for cars that raced in the past on the new mid engine RSR platform. Rothmans and th Flying Pig. Beauty for speed.

Wedding days

First Andrew and I go to the rehearsal dinner for Mohan and T. driving Carrera. Then Parinaz and I drive Scarlett to the wedding.

Eureka!

Dad and Son trip to Eureka, California. We stayed at a grow house and had a blast being boys.

Monterrey D&S

Drove with Andrew to Monterrey and had a blast. Needless to say I had a chance to stop at the sand dunes near Salinas.

Scarlett and Blossoms

I noticed these trees in full blossom, but by the time I got Scarlett ready they had already started to go green. Still beautiful. Next year I will be there during the first blossoms.

Brake pads, stock jack and safety and stickers

Got new pads on Scarlett, the pads look like if they were toys. At a point, they even seemed "cute" I used the stock jack to raise the car; it worked fine on the front wheel, where I learned about the process of removal (easy) of the pads. As I went to the rear, I must have done something incorrectly and the car dropped, wheels still on the axel, lugs out (gulp).

Thankfully I know better and always keep my hands, head everything away from any raised car.  Needless to say, I bought a floor jack and some stands. The interesting thing of this pad swap was the level of pad left on my right side caliper...  Nothing. Luckily the disc was intact and not warped. So I will do the rotors next time.

Last but not least, #rkStrong sticker on Scarlett. She looks the part! Supporting Ray!

To test it all out, I headed out to Campbell's farmers market, did Haleh's curves before stopping by the Water Tower.

Patterson

Its been on my ToDo list. Ashley from FedEx once told me a story of a horrible drive from Patterson, Ca to the Bay Area. My gear-brain was translating her description of this intensely curvy road like a piece of heaven on earth type of road. So I added the task to drive from BA to Patterson via 130. Fortunately, I had made plans to go to EASY's Cars and Coffee and meet with some good P-friends. I met Jay H. in person, along with his wonderful and attentive wive Toni, her and Andrew got along just fine. I saw Koich for a brief moment before Andrew pulled me aside. Then there was SeaRenn,  a drive I could have joined. However, I decided to go towards Patterson and fulfill my dream of driving the mystical 130 curvy roads.

First, we stopped for Lunch at Patterson, unique town center, some concentric layout. Had a good lunch there and headed down the wrong path to the Diablo Canyon Country Club. Beautiful open empty road, only to get to the end and find out 130 did not connect. So I head back, back to where I first saw a biker waiting on a small road that leads to Raines park. This road was my path, and what a path it is. Yes, a bit narrow, a bit rough, but fun enough to drive at a good pace. Andrew got dizzy or "windy" as he put it, and soon took a nap.

Finally did drive 130 and itg was great.
