Early bird gets the best story

I believe I was the first person to arrive at Canepa, before they opened the parking. Zach welcomed me and pointed me to park anywhere, even next to Pete’s car. I darted directly to Pete’s car. Here is a man whom I look up to, not only due to his kind nature but mainly because of what he represents in the auto community, but I had never thought about what car he would drive.

I drove slowly toward a 991.2 Irish Green with those large and bright yellow PDDC brakes. I parked next to this car, wondering if it was a S, GTS, even a GT3 touring, but to my surprise, it was a Base Carrera, with amazing brakes and, yes, manual transmission. 370 HP and 3153 lbs of weight.

So not a S, GTS or GT3 Touring but the reason why this is a base was the best part. During the testing of the 991.2 series, Pete drive the base Carrera hard enough that a NA GT3RS had a hard time keeping up, so much that the driver (can’t recall the name) had to put the radio down to focus and drive. (it is known these drivers do not put the radio down even if drifting a 918… so Pete was sure his 991.2 base with massive brakes is all he needed. It narrow, its beautiful and it has all the torque you need from the twin turbo flax six power plant.
