RRVI Day 3

The day started off with Jay’s Cayman R at the stage with the 919. We then headed over to the CorkScrew, and then to the Porsche hospitality pop up store, where I go to see my good old friend Jamie Dillon from PNA. If you really want to have an experience ordering your Porsche, talk to Jamie about picking it up in Germany.

Porsche announced the 935 and at first, not a fan but now I want one. It took me a good week or so, but this beast is amazing and a dream car, if I tracked cars… Anyway the speedster was also brought over and it looked the part, a very cool car as well. In my opinion the first good looking speedster (don’t be hating, just think about it and you will agree).

The garages as always pure bliss. Car heaven on earth and specifically at Laguna Seca. Pure Porsche.

A new event that by far brought us Porsche people even closer, Porsche tractor races! What an event! So much fun! Now everyone will want a Porsche tractor. I know my mother does.

And to finish off the day… some girls pose for me near my cars, Scarlett poses at the welcome 919 stage and we follow a RS carrera out of Laguna as we head over to meet the skittles crowd for our first RoadStr RRVI drive. Christhecarguy had an idea of shooting the cars on a drive and we went for it. Best decision of the day! A good close to the 3rd day at Laguna.

RRVI Day 2

Day 2 was a bit more about walking around and observing the races. Vish had left early Thursday (he will forever regret) and Jay came in late Friday, so did Ray and Fe and RoadStr’s Stephen. Jay enjoyed the concert as I listened through a conference call from work… Music was good, no beer though, we took the Cayman R to meet the crowd at Gusto’s Pizza for some good Italian. Scarlett slept at Laguna this time, and so did Carrera. The car that stole the day was a Silver GT 911 R with gold rims and gold stickers to match, what a spec. In my mind its the best 911R out there, subtle yet very refined and elegant. I may have to try the color mix on Carrera later on. Even the stripes may look nice on her despite the missing 100hp and motorsport setup.

I enjoyed the Falken RSR race, the blue and green color is awesome. And what to say about P. Long’s vintage red 911 near the corkscrew.

RRVI Day 1

The first day was wild. All senses engaged. From the smell of race cars warming up to the sounds of speed machines flying by, the view of the many colors and models of Porsche’s and the cold but comfortable breeze as we drove in and walked toward the event area. It was again, as I had dreamed, another amazing Reunion, yes a bit of the same but so different, so much to see. On top: The flying Pig, Prototype 64, the new 935 and Speedster and that welcome stage by the 919 is forever engrained into my motorhead. Marque of Champions RRVI

Road to Rennsport

Vish helped me drive my cars to Monterrey Bay. We drove late on Wednesday in the dark, good speed, engines cool and little to no traffic. We crashed at a AirBnB for the night and the next morning we headed out to Laguna Seca. This was the sight of the cars waiting to be driven to RRVI.
